2024 Highland Model 3 Performance does 10.75 @ 126+ mph 1/4 mile
This is a deep dive video into optimizing the 2024 Highland Model 3 Performance. Here are some of the facts this video demonstrates.
1. The car is in fact called the "Highland" Model 3 by Tesla.
2. HP is well over 510 HP. It is closer to 615 HP for the US Model.
3. 0-60 mph in the US is closer to 2.7 seconds than 2.9 seconds.
4. The car can do a 10.75 @ 126+ mph 1/4 mile with a fully optimized battery.
5. The New car's 0-130 MPH is close to the old car's 60-130 MPH.
6. 18" 235 wide Efficiency All Season tires don't really slow the car down over the stock summer tires.
7. Efficiency at 60 mph can be almost as good as a Model 3 RWD on 18's if the new car uses the ultra efficient Hankook iON EVO AS tires on 18" wheels.

Excellent video, lots of data well presented and tightly edited. Well deserved sub. Side note, I'm glad to see my 2019 MSP is still quicker. It sucks enough already, being underwater on it. Would hate to see it beat by a 3!
@@thedownwardmachine those older Model S cars were pretty quick.
Totally, in fact we love the car and it treats us great. The only issue has been depreciation. And that only happened because new Tesla prices got slashed, otherwise they had been keeping their value well up till then. I think they will continue keeping their value now that Tesla can’t bring down prices much more.

Website literally says 2.9 no rollout subtracted lmao check ur ish
@@dyeace Dragy literally says 2.71 with rollout subtracted. My point was that Tesla underrates the 0-60 mph just like they underrate the HP of the car. The specs Tesla states are definitely sandbagged.
@@LearningFast which has nothing to do with my point, despite liking your own comment. Tesla website says 2.9 0-60 no rollout. You confirmed 0-60 no rollout is 2.9. there is zero sandbagging there. Horsepower and other things sure, and I never disagreed with those claims. As a side note, considering the other trims don't subtract rollout, displaying 60 time without it on performance is the most honest and consistent way to advertise it as well
@@dyeace you are wrong. Their website says 2.9 with rollout subtracted. However, it will actually do 0-60 mph in 2.7 with rollout subtracted.
@@LearningFast liking your own comment and doubling down on a debunked claim is not a good look. This is extremely easy for anyone to verify. Navigate to tesla's order page and read. For simplicity, I've copied the text exactly. You'll notice there is no asterisks or other note on the 2.9 claim, nor is there any mention of subtracting the rollout at the bottom, both of which are present on the model s plaid All-new high-performance drive units deliver more than combined 500 horsepower and 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds. Welcome to the most powerful Model 3 ever. **This is the end of the text** Facts are facts and you and everyone else need only read Tesla's site to see the truth
@@dyeace you are wrong. It has an as asterisk and on the specs page it says “with rollout subtracted”. Go check it right now. You couldn’t be more wrong about this.
Soooo...do you think there’s anything left over? Rumor has it that there might be a $2k performance boost, making it actually ludicrous 🤞
@@cgmartin333 there is nothing left in the battery if you launch at 627 HP Max Discharge value. That is the max power the battery can produce. There won’t be any acceleration upgrades without physically changing the battery.

I really get tired of people using the word "lie" inappropriately. Musk said Highland wasn't an official designation; he never said it wasn't used in development. And sandbagging horsepower is laudable, as opposed to exaggerating. "Lie" is way too harsh.

So I got mine 2024 M3P seems the mileage it gives is a joke it’s more like 5 miles to one real mile This is more a measurement of how much battery you have not real Miles I filled up to 80% three times have approx 400 miles on my car ! Do I have a lemon ? And I drive on normal I love insane mode but thought it eats more battery live This is my only complaint is battery drains badly for real Miles love to get you feed back and great job Thanks JT
Get efficiency tires and watch how much power your A/C and sentry mode use.
Thank you so the stock tires are bad ? Well using AC is necessary I live in Los Angeles I try shut off sentry mode as much I can I’ll see if I can permanently shut off seems I shit off the boom it on again
@@josephtomasello1859 the stock tires are OK efficiency for a full Performance summer tire but they are nowhere near an ultra efficient AS tire. Sentry mode uses an extraordinary amount of energy. Make sure it is disabled if you want max range. Also make sure cabin overheat is disabled if you need max range.

Fascinating video The HP maintained at a longer MPH range I found particularly interesting...as an owner of a 2024 Model Y Performance, is this just a function of mostly software allowing it to hold power for longer or is it entirely the newly designed motors?
It is a new rear motor that allows it to hold high power at higher speeds.
Two questions I got my 2024 M3P few weeks ago Those stats are with the 20” wheels And when charged it looses battery so quickly seems 5 Miles to one real mile
I used my 18” wheels for most of the runs. I used the stock 20” wheels for the 11.0 runs. My efficiency is excellent with the 18” wheels and the ultra efficient Hankook tires.
I’m wondering how my 19” vr forged 9.5” on 255/40 conti extreme contacts are going to handle the power…

600 horse power???? Why would they advertise it lower??
At least 613 US HP to be precise. I think there is some regulation or something they are trying to avoid. Maybe they just want to make the Model S LR look better than this?
It’s what the Germans do lol
Thank you so much. EU version sucks obviously
It is still a decent car it just isn’t anywhere close to the acceleration we get in the states.
Well, that's certainly quicker and faster than a 2024 G80 M3.
Agreed, not a single "stock" G80 2024 or older has gone in the 10s on a strip like the Model 3 has.

Has anyone tried to buy some tiny drag racing brakes for the rear and put some super lightweight 15" drag wheels/tires on it?
Just removing the seats 💺 would help way more. Traction isn’t a big issue for this car and the stock wheels are actually fairly lightweight.
Great video. The stock wheels are forged & are stronger than the T Sportline flow forged wheels. ⚡️😎

jesus, almost had a datagasm, so much to absorb. awesome job! Based on what you know, and considering you haven't dinoed it, can you make an educated guess as to how much horsepower it makes at the wheels?
Hard to know what it would dyno at the wheels. Based on the 10.75 1/4 mile time it would be well over 550 WHP for the ~4,050 lb weight of the car. The calculators say 577 Wheel HP for those 1/4 mile times.
